Director's Statement: The Human Under the Bed is a story about the nuances of growing up. I still remember the impatience I felt as a child, wanting to leave school, to drive a car, to stay up late. Once I grew up, those freedoms came with responsibilities, and I found myself thinking back to when things felt more simple and safe. In the film, these two feelings are in conversation with one another, personified by AJ and the human.
