Director's Statement: Eric Warwaruk wanted to explore some of the mythological foundations of the Little Mermaid story, as it was inspired by the early Eastern European and Ukrainian “Rusalka" or “water nymphs" myths. Specifically, Warwaruk sought a way to bridge old-world mythologies with North American modernity in this mysterious thriller.
