The Great Wolodarsky Cribbage Tournament
Directed by Ma'ayan Sue Rypp
Logline: The 25th Annual Wolodarsky family cribbage tournament brings the family together once again for good times, where no one is really interested in winning.
Synopsis: A family affair that documents the 25th Annual Wolodarsky Cribbage Tournament. The greater Wolodarsky family get together in a fun way to enjoy each other's company. The film explores notions of tradition, memory, and place, revealing the cross-cultural parallels of these overarching themes. The game of cribbage becomes a fulcrum from which one can examine human relations; a harmonization of both our inherent drive for comradely and as well as our competitive nature to win.

Director's Statement: Usually when you make a documentary film you fall in love with your characters during the process. In this case I loved them already and got to love them even more. The more I observed them more I found a family free of sarcasm filled with respect for one another no matter the age differences. This is a family of winners and losers that have no interest in competing but do so for the sake of being together and maintaining the tradition while being comfortable with one another. This inspired me deeply. For me it's a story about people finding their place and comfort year after year. I hope this film will impact people to leave their cellphones, grab a family member and let the games begin and allow all the magic of life to appear.
