Rain on my back, like pieces of a shadow catching up to me
Directed by David McGregor
Logline: A young man struggles to untangle his identity from the selfish actions of his grandfather in an effort to save his future.
Synopsis: Rain on My Back follows Andy (Kristian Jordan) as he travels with his grandfather (Robert King) to turn off the water at the family cabin. As the trip unfolds, Andy learns more about the regrets that shaped his grandfather's life. He experiences an awakening shudder as he sees echoes of his grandfather in his own life and relationship with his partner Sarah (Sarah Putnam). The film explores the subtle underpinnings of how we see ourselves in relation to those we love and how we respond when unflattering parts of our background come to the surface.

Director's Statement: For me this film is about the incremental changes that shape our paths. When I wrote it I was thinking a lot about how we are only dimly aware of how moments impact our sense of ourselves and how we relate to those around us. Rain on my Back is a contemplation on how the generations before us shape our identities and what it feels like to be confronted by that realization.
