Director's Statement: The bears that managed to migrate further west during that time often took up residence in the Rocky mountains in places such as Banff in Alberta. Being unfamiliar with the local resources of these mountain environments the Prairie Grizzly faced a difficult transition, although the bears have managed to survive in their new homes. Along with the plains buffalo the bear has become a presence in the past, a story from an other era.
