Director's Statement: My Friend Isabelle is a 16mm film loop, it was created for a set of outdoor screenings held by the Windows Collective in the summer of 2009. The film was created by projecting simultaneously on to the back of a window frame 3 separate films. The window that the images were projected on to was hung from the ceiling. Placed around the window was a frame made from black foamcore, on the front of the foamcore were shelves that held the picture frames and candles. The entire piece was re-photographed using 16mm 500T colour negative film. The projected black and white images were all hand processed. The top image was shot on Super 8mm Tri X black and white reversal film. The middle image was shot on 16mm 7222 black and white negative film and the bottom image was shot on 16mm black and white Tri X reversal film.
