Director's Statement: MOON RIVER grew from my personal journey approaching menopause, and my desire to honour this vital, universal rite of passage. With MOON RIVER I invite the audience into a visual and sonic experience. I chose to work with elements of Butoh dance, a juxtaposition of landscapes and rhythmic editing to describe the complexity of feeling evoked by this dynamic life change. The mysterious female persona and gentle soundscape reflect the sometimes fragile and elusive nature of this body transformation.
