Director's Statement: Given my filmography has typically featured a combination of female protagonists and religious themes, it was a no-brainer that my next work would include these elements.

This time around, I wanted to dive into the mind of the greatest woman who ever lived. It is recorded in scripture that Mary was present during Christ's crucifixion, so I simply wanted to explore what it was like for the Mother of all mothers to watch her child die under the most excruciating circumstances.

In addition, Catholic art has featured Mary in its 2,000 year history and has represented her in a diverse array of cultural and ethnic settings, so I wanted to make my little contribution to the tradition.
