Father Alphonse and the Fight Between Carnival and Lent

Directed by Diana Thorneycroft

Logline: A novice priest must get from his apartment to the church during the last hour of Mardi Gras.

Synopsis: Alphonse has always lived in the shadow of his overbearing father. His decision to become a Catholic priest was based on his belief that it was the only profession that would keep him from committing the sins his father feared he would commit. Every time Alphonse showed the slightest interest in the evil ways of the world, the father’s response was punitive.

The story begins when Alphonse is a young adult. Fresh out of seminary school and new to the village, he must get from his apartment to the church during the last hour of Mardi Gras.
