Dam'd
Directed by Tracy Peters
Logline: Invasive behaviours accumulate on the surface of water bodies and on the film itself.
Synopsis: Using 16mm film altered in part by algae and zebra mussels, Dam'd illuminates parallel behaviours between human and invasive species and their impact on waterways. The mutation of film footage acts as a metaphor for the erosion and evolution of the aquatic ecosystems it records.

Director's Statement: In my interdisciplinary practice, I am drawn to threatened habitats that are in the midst of cataclysmic change. What deeply motivates me is resilient behaviour in ecosystems that enable their adaptation to human intervention. For the most part, I carry out my work and research in natural environments where unpredictable weather and ecological surprises allow me to access the voice of the wind, the water and land.
