Director's Statement: I began thinking about car sex after interviewing queer historian Gary Kinsman, who described the role that cars play as mediators between public and private space. As a Winnipegger, I became fascinated by the dichotomies between the queer experiences of the car and the more mainstream car culture that dominates the city. As someone who doesn't drive, I have always looked at cars with a mix of wonder and anxiety.
