Logline: In three parallel worlds, two lovers meet, lust, disappoint and drink coffee and it's time for the cycle to change.

Synopsis: We meet Charlotte in three parallel realities as she encounters her love interest Harlow, some for the first time and another for the last. This layered cycle is disturbed by a fourth version of Charlotte, who wanders the corners of each life from another dimension. She is omniscient, seeing and feeling everything her counterparts experience. She seeks a way to make herself known, to disturb the cycle of all the Charlottes by showing them the world through her eyes.

Director's Statement: A Drop Across is a film that considers the individual from a broader perspective in time and space. This film was the central component of my thesis to achieve my Masters of Fine Arts at York University.

There was significant research, defence and drafting of this project, which involved both personal examination as well as looking out into the universe and the nature of reality. In my exploration of the ideas around the multiverse, I found myself asking: Who are we as individuals if there are infinite selves in infinite times? Do we have a collective memory? Are we all struggling with the same issues? How does one really change?

I engaged with these questions through the narrative of Charlotte and Harlow and the idea that we are drawn to each other for a reason. Through the small moments and choices that occur in each reality, I'm exploring the way that the greater "universe" tries to pry through and make contact. Seeking to create the potential moment of self-connection that can change everything.
